TDCJ Volunteer Training

This is mandatory state religious volunteer training required by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Who must take the training: Anyone working on the Inside Team for the first time.

Anyone who has worked a Kairos Weekend before but has not had training in the last two (2) years or as otherwise required by the Warden.


Steps To Get TDCJ Volunteer Training
1. Select a site and date.

2. Contact the Chaplain at that site and ask to be placed on the "Volunteer Training Roster."

3. Go on-line to get the "Volunteer Application" (TDCJ > Online Services > Volunteer Application) You may fill out the user interactive application on-line and make your copy or copy a blank form and fill out by hand.

4. Ignore the instructions at the bottom of the application form, do not mail the application.

5. Bring the completed application with you to the training.

6. Arrive 30 minutes early.

7. Please wear proper attire.

8. Bring driver's license, pen, and completed Volunteer Application

On-site training is good for two years. You can then train on-line. On-line training is good for two years, and then you will need to start the process over with on-site training.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 11, 2017
*Be at front gate by 8 a.m.

Make sure and bring your letter from the State with you!
